P.W. Nigeria Ltd have been awarded the provision of mining services contract for the Macy Deposit Contract effective 28th May 2018 with a 3-week mobilisation underway and first equipment arriving on site. Pre-stripping at Macy is expected to commence shortly. Symbol Mining Limited (ASX:SL1) is pleased to advise that it has awarded the mining contract to P.W. Nigeria Ltd, to undertake the mining and crushing services for the Macy Open Pit deposit. The P.W. Group are established specialists in mining and infrastructure projects throughout West Africa and have been operational in Nigeria for 45 years, completing some of the largest civil construction projects in Nigeria. PW Nigeria are currently on-site undertaking construction of the Bailey bridge and upgrade of the access road. Under the mining contract, mobilisation has commenced with arrival of the initial mining fleet onsite. It is anticipated that pre-stripping activities will commence within the next month. Symbol Mining CEO, Tim Wither commented, “The execution of the Mining Service Contract is a major step in moving closer to establishing the first industrial scale mechanized mine in Nigeria in recent years. Symbol Mining are very pleased in partnering with the PW Group who have vast experience operating in Nigeria, and to date have shown great support in the goal of advancing the Macy deposit into production, which is expected to be the first of many projects on the Imperial tenements and in Nigeria for Symbol.”

The Mine Services contract with PW is a Fixed and Variable contract over Macy’s current 12-month Life of Mine plan. The contract comprises of all onsite mining, and crushing and screening activities over the period, with initial site establishment already commenced. In preparation for the first shipment of the Macy DSO product, Symbol has commenced construction of the Bailey Bridge to secure all weather access to the project and expects to have the footings in place prior to the commencement of the wet season.
The accommodation and administration facilities have also been finalised to support the commencement of mining and ongoing exploration activities over the Imperial tenements.

PW Nigeria Limited have been awarded 3 new contracts by Plateau State Govt. with a total value of 5.2 billion Naira.
All three contracts have similar scope which is the rehabilitation and reconstruction of single lane carriageway roads which entails but not limited to earthworks, drainage, provision of stone base, binder and wearing asphaltic surfaces. Also, the provision of drains and culverts and in some of the roads, bridge construction. Also included in the contracts are 5 in number road bridges and numerous culverts.
PW Nigeria Limited have been awarded 3 new contracts by Ogun State Govt. with a total value of 35 billion Naira.
All three contracts have similar scope which is rehabilitation and reconstruction of single, dual, 3-lane & 6-lane carriageway roads which entails but not limited to earthworks, provision of stone base, binder and wearing asphaltic surfaces. Also, the provision of drains and culverts and in some of the roads, bridge construction.

Geoscience Ireland is a network of 31 companies, delivering integrated expertise in water, minerals, environmental and infrastructure development to clients in over 50 countries. PW Nigeria Ltd form part of the network which provides design, consultancy and contracting services to multilateral agencies, governments and the private sector.
PW Nigeria Ltd Secure two exploration licenses in Niger State
PW Nigeria Ltd have recently secured two locations in the Niger State region. The mining team are currently working on a strategy to carry out an exploration program at both locations. The program will involve mapping, soil sampling and analysis, trenching and RC/DD drilling.
To complete the exploration program PW Nigeria Ltd have made a significant investment in geological equipment and expertise.
In conjunction with Kogi Iron, PW Nigeria Ltd have completed 21 km of access roads around the Kogi Iron Agbaja project. The rehabilitation of the road network around the plateau added to the already strong community relationship with Kogi Iron. Community leaders joined the PW and Kogi Iron team onsite to express their gratitude for the improvements made to their community.
PW Nigeria has also excavated several hundred tonnes of iron ore for further testing by experts in South Africa. These samples have been packed into shipping containers and will be dispatched in September 2017
PW Nigeria Ltd are delighted to announce that we have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Australian Stock Exchange ASX listed company Kogi Iron. This represents a significant development in PW Nigeria’s strategic development plan to become a key player in the Nigerian mining industry. In a recent article published on www.miningreview.com Dr Ian Burston, Chairman of Kogi Iron and Mining veteran said “The MOUs represented an important step in the development of Agbaja. We believe they are the right organisation to partner with Kogi to complete the feasibility study details and develop the Agbaja project”
